The who? Don’t worry – I don’t know who Vincent Ehindero is either. But I do know that I am super grateful to The Doubting Thomas for nominating me – thank you so much Thomas, I’m honoured! Thomas has a great lockdown series you should definitely check out over on his blog.

These are the rules to follow:-

1. Thank the person who nominated you with a link to their blog.
2. Make a post of the award (with a photo of the logo).
3. Post the rules
4. Ask 5-10 questions of your choice.
5. Nominate 10-30 other bloggers (or more) and notify them.

It doesn’t actually specify in the rules above, but I’m presuming I need to answer Thomas’ Questions – so here goes!

1 – Who is your childhood hero and why?

If you’d asked me this in childhood, I definitely would have said Jaqueline Wilson. I’ve still got a massive box of her books under my desk, and have a few signed copies (wow!). I probably didn’t think about it much when I was 8, but one thing I really admire is how she wrote about people that didn’t live “cookie-cutter” lifestyles. My parents divorced when I was young, so it was great for me to read about children who came from all different lifestyles and backgrounds – I’m so grateful to JW for giving me these different perspectives at such a young age.

2 – What is your biggest fear/phobia?

It’s probably not my “biggest” fear per se but my “weirdest” fear is my omphalaphobia. I’m sure I’ve mentioned it in a previous blog post but yes – I have a phobia of bellybuttons (or, more accurately, things touching bellybuttons). You wouldn’t think this has much of an impact but a few examples are – I can only wear high-waisted trousers/skirts (thank god they’re in fashion), I can’t wear a bikini, and I flinch if anything goes near my stomach.

3 – Do you believe it’s healthy to have regrets?

I don’t think it’s healthy to have regrets. However, I’m still holding onto a few of my own regrets so maybe I need to need take my own advice on that one!

4 – In your opinion, is social media healthy or damaging for the future generations?

Oh, great question! Is it a cop-out if I say both?

On the one hand, I think social media can be an amazing tool for communication, staying in touch with people who aren’t geographically close to you, etc.

On the other hand, I think social media can be extremely toxic in the expectations it might put into young people’s heads. I unfollowed a ton of accounts because all you see is ultra-glam “snatched” instagram models. It’s unrealistic. You only get to se the “best” of everyone, and none of the bad stuff. Now I mostly follow accounts about body positivity, or houseplants.

5 – What is your favourite holiday destination?

I’m very fortunate to have been to loads of lovely holiday destinations in my lifetime. I would say the most spectacular place I’ve ever been is Mexico – but really I’ll take anywhere with some hot weather and a beach.

6 – If you had full disclosure, what would be written on your tombstone?

This is a toughie! It would probably have to be my favourite quote “in the midst of winter, I found there was, within me, an invincible summer”.

7 – What is your stance on religion?

Personally, I don’t prescribe to any religion (but I’m also not going to tell anyone else what to believe in). I do think as I get older I’m a bit more of a believer in manifestation/the law of attraction. I think the vibes you put out into the universe impact what the universe gives back to you. Some people would call that a religion I guess!

I really enjoyed answering these questions!

Here’s what I’d like to know from my nominees:

  1. What’s your favourite book?
  2. If you had the resources to start a charity – what would the charity be for?
  3. If someone told you to lock something away in a box in your head – what does the box look like?
  4. What’s the best music event you’ve ever been to?
  5. Do you believe any conspiracy theories? If yes – which ones?
  6. Which Hogwarts house would you be in?
  7. Why did you start blogging?

Last, but certainly not least, here are my nominations!
